Camp Cougar 2018 FlyerAffton School District and the YMCA are excited to have the opportunity to provide your child’s summer camp experience and would like to welcome you to YMCA Camp Cougar at Mesiner! Camp will run from June 4 – July 27.

SUMMER UNPLUGGED!

Amazing things happen when kids unplug and reconnect with others! Y Summer Day Camp provides a fun, safe experience for kids to learn new skills,build self-confidence, and make lasting friendships.

Register Early & Save:
• 20% OFF* up to three weeks of camp until February 28
• 10% OFF* up to three weeks of camp from March 1-31

Registration can be submitted online through the South City YMCA page.

Paper registration forms can also be found below and submitted in person at the South City Family YMCA (3150 Sublette Ave, St. Louis MO 63139).

Below is a copy of the typical day as well as items needed on a daily basis. You will see that we have fun-filled days planned for your child, as well as the opportunity enrich their lives with the Y’s daily Health and Wellness activities as well as staying on top of their reading skills with 30 minutes dedicated to Camp Readers program – helping each child stay ahead of summer reading loss.

All payments for each of the weeks will need to be paid in full by the WEDNESDAY prior to that week. For assistance setting up automatic bill pay, contact Camp Registrar, Stephanie Hood: stephanie.hood@gwrymca.org. If you receive assistance from the state for child care you must supply the state approval letter with your registration. The payment arrangements need to be made with our camp registrar.

Again, we are excited with the partnership between the YMCA and Affton School District. We are looking to a fun-filled summer unplugged!

TYPICAL DAY CAMP SCHEDULE:

All full day camp hours are 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Extended care (Fun Club) is also available. Please note: most of our Field Trip will be on Thursdays; however we do have a few days that will vary. Fridays will be swim day at the Carondelet Park Rec Complex Outdoor Aquatic Center from 10a-12p followed by sack lunches and all camp activities inside Carondelet Park.

7:00-8:45am Fun Club (Before Camp Care)

8:00-9:00am Breakfast

9:00-9:15am Restroom Break

9:15-9:30am Opening, Songs, and Thought for the Day

9:30-9:45am Small group discussions to review daily activities and Y Core Values

9:45-11:15am Special projects (Healthy Living Activities)

11:15-11:30am Clean-up for lunch

11:30am-12:30pm Lunch and low/high energy game/free play

12:30-2:30pm All-Camp activities, arts & crafts, field and gym time

2:30-3:00pm Clean-up camp, quiet games

3:00-3:30pm CAMP READERS

3:30-4:00pm Closing ceremonies and Fun Club switch

4:15-6:00pm Fun Club (After Camp Care)

WHAT CAMPERS SHOULD BRING:

  • A great attitude
  • Tennis shoes
  • Sunscreen
  • Water bottle
  • Books to read daily
  • A sack lunch for field trips on Thursdays and swimming on Fridays
  • Swim suit and towel on Fridays
  • Electronics are prohibited

MEAL OPTIONS:

  • Camp attendees may bring their own breakfast, lunch, and/or snack.
  • You also have the option of choosing breakfast and lunch provided (vendor TBD)
  • Snack will be provided as part of the PM Fun Club fee. Parents may also choose to send snack
